A woman has sparked debate online after posting a video revealing that she quit her corporate job to deliver pizza.
Throwing off the shackles of corporate employment might be appealing to many people, but it was when the TikToker revealed something else that people were left stunned.
The video was posted with a comically-distorted version of the US national anthem, which was dubbed over with sampled eagle sounds as the @c0rynne saluted the camera.

You might expect that quitting an office job to go and deliver pizza would have some benefits, if that's what you were after, but also downsides.
Chief among those downsides could be the likelihood that you would take a pay cut in doing so.
But if this one person's story is to be believed she actually ended up not taking a pay cut, but getting a pay rise in her new job.
So how much more was she making delivering pizza than before?

According to the video, she was making an additional $4 an hour more than when she was working a corporate job.
In a caption on the video, she wrote: “Leaving my big girl job that required a bachelor’s degree to go work at Domino’s because they pay almost $4 more an hour + tips and my superiors aren’t bullies.”

Meanwhile underneath the video she posted: “The way i earned more in four hours on a slow day delivering pizza than i did an 8 hour shift working for NBC.”
Other people piled into the comments to share their own similar experiences.
One wrote: "These comments are making me rethink my whole life. I work at a nursing home and make $11.25."
A second commented: "Me leaving corporate sales to sell pasta at a farmers market."
A third posted: "Me with a biochemistry degree unable to get hired at a lab for more than 22$ but working at subway for 25$ and tutoring for 24$".

But while many people claim to be earning more in jobs which do not require a college degree, overall college graduates do earn higher than people who did not go to college.
According to a report from Axios in 2023, 22-27 year olds who had recently graduated college earned as much as $24,000 more a year than the same age group who didn't go to college.
Of course, this can also depend on the kind of degree you study.
For example, medicine, architecture, law, or engineering specifically lead to high-paying professions.
