Netflix viewers are finding movie so scary they're having to turn it off after just two minutes

The 2021 crime drama starring Denzel Washington, Jared Leto, and Rami Malek left viewers traumatised

A movie which has been added to Netflix has proven it's not for the faint-hearted as some viewers are claiming they've had to switch it off mere minutes in.

As John Lee Hancock's latest pride and production, the cast of this anxiety-inducing includes award-winning stars such as Jared Leto, Denzel Washington and Rami Malek.

Lee Hancock's most successful work has mostly fit into the sport drama category, with The Blind Side and The Rookie, whereas this is possibly his eeriest film yet.

The flick takes place following a murder case as Joe 'Deke' Deacon (played by Denzel Washington) is called to briefly review some evidence.

He soon finds himself embroiled in the investigation alongside Sergeant Jim Baxter (played by Rami Malek) in search of a serial killer who's terrorizing Los Angeles.

However, unbeknownst to Baxter, the case dredges up echoes of Deke's past, uncovering disturbing secrets.

Despite being labelled as a psychological crime drama and comprising a fairly docile title - The Little Things - many have argued this is actually an anxiety-ridden, traditional horror movie.

And no, there aren't zombies or aliens or paranormal activity - just pure eeriness, a harrowing police investigation and unearthly characterization. Clearly the plot and characterization speaks for itself.

Still, this clearly proved too much for some, as one viewer took to X to say: "2min 52 sec into Netflix the little things & it’s made me so anxious I’ve had to turn it off."

Another posted: "Watching ‘the little things’ on Netflix and the first 2 minutes are so scary I’m not sure I can continue."

But don't let those comments put you off - some viewers did manage to make it to the end.

One X user singled out Denzel’s performance, writing: "'The little things' on Netflix…….WOW, what a movie. Proper old school, Denzil [sic] Washington at his best,"

A third simply said: "Watched the little things on netflix with my sister and it was So Good!!!"

Since the film's release in 2021 it has had a wealth of positive feedback, yet somehow only has a mere 45 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer and a 6/10 rating on IMDb.

Perhaps some of of those critics were just struggling to admit how scared they really were...?

Still, if you are searching for a sleepless night, this might be the movie for you.
